About

I’m all the standards: wife, mommy, employee, daughter, sister, friend, annoying girl who always thinks she’s right and not nearly as cool as she wishes she was.  I always thought it would be amazing to know who my mother was when she was young.  I decided to write this blog so that my daughter can get to know me, if she wants.  I hope she does.

ETA: In addition to the standards mentioned above, I’m now what’s called a babylost parent. I lost Olivia Helene November 25, 2009. She was stillborn at 10:30 pm via c-section. Our story starts here.

    Catherine,

I’m so sorry to meet you this way. Thank you for stopping by my blog, and thank you for sharing your experience too. I’m very saddened to read about your sweet Olivia. It is just too cruel. Words are so inadequate, I often wish that somehow Iris’ death had given me the grace to know how to be there for other bereaved parents, but instead I just bumble around clumsily, saying all the things I resent so much from the mouths of others. I just want to let you know that I’ll be listening, and that I’m here if you need an ear.

    With love,

    Jess xx
